Mélange attempts to showcase the evolution of Indian Classical music and how it became more enriched due to the inclusion of Vedic, Persian and Folk music over time. Indian Classical Music has also been influenced by the music from North India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nepal.
The show will include music forms such as Khayal, Tarana, Thumri, Ghazal, Sufi and Bhajans. The line-up includes 10-15 compositions ranging from Classical to Semi-classical music. Apart from the performances, there will be a special audio-visual presentation as the backdrop.
“As I belong to Pune, my first choice was to perform in the city as my sentiments are attached to it. The city is known as a classical music hub and I feel the audience will appreciate this concert a lot,” says Kale. There will also be different sets as per the songs being sung.
