Tortilla, a new city-based theatre group brings in Together in the City, an English play that will have five whacky plays packed into one. Written by playwrights from all across the globe, Together in the City aims to look at how human relationships take birth and die in an urban set up.

Explaining why an initiative like this works for a city likes Bangalore with its established theatrical background, Siddarth Selvaraj, the director says, "The idea is to add to the city's live entertainment scenario. It will appeal to people, who are looking at theatre performances that are higher on comedy and entertainment."

Styled in the black box theatre format where the audience will enjoy an intimate performance with simple sets and lights, Together in the City comprise plays written by playwrights from all across the globe.

Party of Three by Theresa Sherwood, Goodbye, Again by Molly McCluskey, Human Relations by Mark Niel, Anything For You by Cathy Celesia and CP I Love U by Chris LaVoie will bring out the sweet bitter moments in urban love stories.

As the plot will explore from new lovers to old ones and even those, who are heading for a break up, Selvaraj hopes that the audience will laugh and cry with them. However, Selvaraj assures that the flow between all the stories will be maintained and the audience will not be pushed from one to the other story.

"We call transitioning from one play to another five times in under an hour our version of what 'controlled chaos' would look like. It's hard to be part of all the crazy logistics around you and still maintain your character. Our performers do so well, but it has been our biggest challenge," admits Selvaraj .
