Noida based Ringing Bells that came to instant fame after announcing the Rs 251 smartphone in early 2016 now has a different story to narrate. Ringing Bells got involved in a spate of controversies including its failure to meet product delivery deadlines. Also, while several Freedom 251 models did not reach many customers who registered for the same, the company already launched low cost televisions and other smartphones. Now, a report has revealed that Ringing Bells has shut down and opened a new company with the name of MDM Electronics Private Limited.

Recently the owners of Ringing Bells have been summoned by a Delhi court for Rs. 2 crore cheque bounce case. Many people including government agencies have filed cheating cases against Ringing Bells.
Developments about Ringing Bells came when the company announced selling of its products via Amazon India. The products on offer included Freedom LED TV series, power banks and smart mobile handsets. It might be possible that Ringing Bells have stopped taking orders on its own website.
The motto and business objective of MDM Electronics Private Limited is not confirmed yet. However, going by its name it can be anticipated that it will be involved in the similar business like Ringing Bells- selling of mobile phones, smartphones TVs and other electrical appliances.
