If you are a South Park fan, you must try its first video game, South Park: The Stick of Truth, released recently by the show’s creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Why? Because it’s everything South Park stands for, and more. The show’s crude humour hasn’t changed even a bit; in fact, the difference between the game and the show is negligible.

Game review:

You start as the new kid on the block. Now, the fourth graders are divided between Cartman’s Humans (the protectors) and Kyle’s Elves. After a few tests, which involve a swordplay, you join Cartman’s Humans in their mission to save the world from Kyle’s Elves.

Your job is to save the Stick of Truth, from the Kyle’s Elves. Unfortunately, it’s lost right after you join Cartman’s Humans during a fight. Your mission now is to find the stick and bring it back to where it belongs. But to do so you have to build an army, which requires enrolling new members as part of Cartman’s Humans.

As you progress, you experience South Park closely, including gaining access to places like Stan’s Closet, etc. To help you fight the evil Elves, you will get a cloak, which identifies your power and purpose. You unlock more powers as you move up the levels in Stick
of Truth.

But the game gets out of control, bringing aliens, Nazi zombies, and gnomes into South Park and threatening to destroy the entire town.

Most of the nonsensical elements are present and get more bizarre at times. There is a lot of working with the characters too and fighting whenever necessary. Though the interactions are a bit limited and seem orchestrated, if you are looking for a fun, interactive virtual experience of South Park, buy the game now.
