Internet giant, Google’s first real-world shop is not exactly a store, but a showroom that opened its door in the trendy Soho neighbourhood of New York. The showroom aims to help people get their hands on Google’s latest devices including the Pixel smartphones. This idea of Google is said to be a step onto the land where its rival Apple has excelled.
Apart from Google Pixel, the pop-up shop also displayed other products like Daydream View virtual reality headset. In this Google shop, nothing is sold directly to customers, but the staff guides potential customers to Google’s online store or telephone operators to place order for the products.
It has been found that already around 30 visitors have ventured into the pop-up store during its opening morning. More such visitors are expected to venture in with time. With the introduction of the showroom, Apple and Google are expected to face a big battle with time.
A wall of the shop poses an artful arrangement of red, yellow, blue and green colour blocks as a symbolization of the company’s trademark colours.
