New Delhi: To celebrate International Women's Day, Twitter is enabling users across India to spotlight the women who inspire them with the hashtags #SheInspiresMe or #SheLeadsIndia, which will trigger a #WomensDay emoji, it said on Tuesday.
The emoji would be the gender symbol for females and a representation of feminism and will be available till April 1, the microblogging site said in a tweet.
"From today, for the rest of the month, Tweet with the hashtags below to see the #InternationalWomensDay emoji appear!" read the tweet.
Twitter has also partnered with digital video storytelling platform @SheThePeopleTV, to host a special #BlueRoom session to talk about the issues women in media and technology face.
"The day (Women's Day) is an opportunity to spark interest and discussion in the issues affecting women today and we hope to draw positive attention to it with our #BlueRoom sessions and a little fun with the emoji," said Keya Madhvani, Head - Lifestyle and Creator Partnerships at Twitter India, in a statement.
The session will comprise of two panel discussions with leading women in technology franchisees as well as a performance by female comedians.
The session would be live on March 8 at 5:30 p.m. from both @TwitterIndia and @SheThePeopleTV handles, the statement added.
