Get a dose of mythology with a mobile game modelled on the encounters of Lord Krishna with King Kansa
As children, most of us have heard stories of Lord Krishna vanquishing his uncle King Kansa and his army of demons. You can now experience the same fun virtually through a game on the two mythological characters. Conceptualised by Jump Games, Krishna Aur Kans is available on platforms like Android, Blackberry and Symbian, across all leading mobile operators.

“In India, action and racing-related games work really well. We also realised that consumers like to download and play games that they can relate to and are local in flavour. Therefore, we decided to devise games that are locally relevant in India, including Krishna Aur Kans,” says Chaitanya Prabhu, Business Head — India, Jump Games.
This game allows players to take the mantle of Krishna and help the parents in the village whose children are being kidnapped by demons. The parents then approach Krishna to help them rescue their children. “Krishna has a weapon and he needs to kill only the demons and not his friends. That’s the basis of the game,” informs Prabhu.
The game, which took six months to create, was launched last week and has had 3,00,000 downloads since then. “The USP of the game is that it is based on Krishna’s stories. We have observed that games that are based on a character that the consumer recognises do very well. For example, a game on Chhota Bheem did extremely well. Similarly, everyone knows about Krishna and hence, they like playing it,” explains Prabhu.
