The AIB Bootcamp is a two-day workshop that will take participants through the basics of joke writing and stage performance
With stand-up comic acts being increasingly well-received and popular in the city, it’s just a matter of time before the industry needs a regular inflow of talent. Gauging that situation, the founders of All India Bakchod -- stand-up comedians such as Tanmay Bhat, Gursimran Khamba, Ashish Shakya and Rohan Joshi -- are organising a two-day workshop that will include basics of joke writing and stage performance.

“Right now, there’s a severe worry that the demand for stand up is outweighing the supply. We wanted to help younger and newer kids to get into the ecosystem of comedy. Doing workshops was the best way as it helps spread the movement and train more aspirants into comedy as a profession,” says Bhat.
Every participant will go through a three-hour module on each day, where Day one will focus on the basics of joke writing and Day two will help participants perform the jokes they wrote.
“We will be doing this one weekend, every month,” says Bhat, further informing that conducting the workshop will be a two- person job, where the four stand-up comics will take turns.
