A dance music festival with a carnival theme, 12 hours of non-stop music, 20 International and Indian acts will get you dancing like there's no tomorrow

It's time for all those dance music fans in town to get set for this party that couldn't get bigger.

Brace yourself for 12 hours of non-stop dance music and back-to-back DJ acts that will blow you over as the party is called nothing else but Supernova.

Xerox & Illumination

In its first edition theu00a0 festival is being organised by Submerge Entertainment in association with Nestor.

Hosted by well-known DJs Nikhil Chinappa from Mumbaiu00a0 and city-based Rohit Barker, this one is out to be Bangalore's summer music festival.

Though there is little you can ask for besides the music with a line-up of 20 acts, what does come attached to this festival is an ambience themed like a carnival.

Think canopies, mist fans, rainbows, food stalls, multiple stage setups and the works that will keep you fulfilled and happy all day long.

The line-up for the day-long events includes international artists Markus Schulz, Xerox & Illumination, ATFC and Indian names like Nikhil Chinappa, Pearl, Arjun Vagale of Jalebee Cartel, B.L.A.N.K, Dale Anderson, Nawed Khan, Ma Faiza, Brute Force, Mash and Techno Touretes.

Talking about what fans must expect at this show, the US-based artist Markus Schulz says, "Do you dream remixes, exclusive mash-ups and some big room audio then this one is for you. Also expect music from my forthcoming Dakota album Thoughts Become Things II."

However, the fun does not end there claims Arjun Vagale from the electronic band Jalebee Cartel,u00a0 who is more of a regular in the city. "It is going to be a great party, some hanging out with friends and of course some super music," says Vagale.

From the times when electronic and dance music was not for everybody and hardly found an arena as large as this, Supernova has grown to be a global phenomenon in itself.

"I think there have been several 'super charger' moments through the course of the last 25 years. Acid House, Rave, the evolution of the super-club, the DJ as a rock star, the country-by-country spread, the vinyl to digital revolution, they have all helped the music grow", explains Markus.

Arjun believes that the electronic dance music genre that had started as underground music has almost become a part of mainstream. He attributes the growth to sponsors, clubsu00a0 and the encouragement of Indian listeners.

"From literally nothing, we have now become global players. A lot of us helped push it to where it is, so I'm really proud as to where it stands today that said, we still have a long way to go," says Vagale.

Celebrating this very genre, this party will hit town over the weekend and set the fans reeling. We asked the artists what they expect from Bangaloreans in return. "What I expect to see when I am there is a big up-for-it party crowd that is musically clued in and ready to rock", says Schulz.

"I play in this city often, it's kind off like home for me, so I always expect great things. The crowd here is well educated in dance music, regardless of genre and always up for a good time, so yes, it's going be a monster festival", says Vagale.
