If Grunge is the name of the game and horror your pet theme, then this New Zealand-based chain's Indian franchise in south Delhi's popular youth hangout zone will win hands down. Hell Pizza, though, does not come with the promise to send you to hell, literally. Jigyasa Dua, who owns the place along with brother Ineet -- who was previously living in New Zealand and still calls it her 'second home', has brought the franchise, after much effort, to India.
Don't be horrified
Dimly-lit, this place would be ideal for a horror-themed party. The outlet is spread over two floors -- one that houses the open kitchen and regular seating and the other is the occult-themed pub. There are skulls, skeletons and posters of horror movies all around.u00a0As you pull your chair to sit, you will find tombstones behind you. We liked a liquor dispenser shaped like a skeleton. While the bar license is yet to come, we think this section holds some promise. However, the d ufffdcor is quite tacky in places. Thumbs-down to the faux leather upholstery and the cheap-satin lookalike blood red curtains. It quite mars the overall effect.
The pub has a lot of these skeleton decor items

No 'overweight' business
While this is a pizza chain end of the day, we must warm those who love pizzas from the likes of Domino's. The crust of the pizzas here are like they should be -- thin. The pizzas have been given innovative names. We went for Lust which they claimed was the meat-eater's delight and we do agree with that. The garlic bread, too, is quite tasty and quite unlike what we usually order. There are seafood pizzas like Amphibian and Crabby Zo.
There are, of course, pizzas named after all seven sins. So you find Pride, Greed, Envy, Lust, Sloth, Gluttony and Wrath are all there. Along with regular pizzas, there are also restaurant specials, combo platters, lamb shank and other items on the exhaustive menu.
The price point, too, is interesting. It would be as much as you would pay for your home-deliveries.
We ended the meal with what we thought would only be fit -- Devil's Balls -- fried ice cream with a coating of chocolate. Shaped like an apple (remember Adam and Eve?), you can't let go of this 'sinful' one. Two thumbs up, is our verdict.
