The rains have trickled down this week as the sun does more than just a peep-show.
If the sunny weather continues, we suggest you step out over the weekend, to check out two fabulous shopping fests that promise to grab shopper eyeballs.
Though Aarna was a little 'thanda' last season, the exhibition promises to be back in full vigour. What will be on sale? Apparel, accessories and home d ufffdcor. Pick garments for men and women from the design desks of Rajat Tangri and Manjaree Jindal who have showcased at various fashion weeks and even fresh talents like Anneka and Kazamirr who will bring the best of the season. The accessories on display range from designer bags by Limited Edition, ethnic jewellery by Agastiya to home d ufffdcor accessories from Big Bang Theory. Mommies can find solace in kidswear from Pink Cow. Ayushi - Icing on Top will put out cupcakes for those with a sweet tooth, or even a sweet jaw as some of us here have.
In another part of the city, the Weekend Bazzare (excuse the typos) will have on sale similar stuff created by a different set of designers. You can choose from bags and clutches by Anusha Lalwani, apparel by a handful of designers and jewellery by Uljla Manchanda. But no cupcakes here. Sigh.

June 25, 2009. A dark day in the history of music. With Michael 'King of Pop' Jackson passing away, the world mournfully bade goodbye to one of the most electrifying performers of our times, an icon that would be revered irrespective of the many scandals that he often found himself into. On his second death anniversary, Zenzi is paying tribute to MJ by spinning some of his most popular songs. Attempt doing the immortal Moonwalk as DJ Derek plays Billy Jean, and take a dance tip or two from the K School of Performing Arts. Fittingly, the dress code for the evening will be 'black or white'.

Some find solace in being a pyromaniac and burning up things, while others take to writing. Then, there are those who take off to the woods, while a few folks cave into their burrows only to emerge after days. We all deal with hurt, pain and grief in our own way, but if you are unable to find a way of release, why don't you sign up for a session of Art Therapy? Art Therapy includes the study of light and shadows, which interestingly involves learning how to breathe properly. On a piece of paper, clay or other tools, our past, present and future take shape so we can draw, paint or model our lives just the way we dreamed. This workshop helps people who face discomfort, anxiety, vision and space issues, shocks, turning points or blockages of any sort as well as people willing to learn about themselves through a fun, creative tool. The workshop is conducted by Leila Tayebaly (who runs Art Loft with her brother Kevin and her husband Greg), a certified Art Therapist who has graduated from a five-year course in French Art Therapy School, based on the work of Margarethe Hauschka.
Leila works with plenty of organic, pure colours, which, she told us in an earlier interview with this paper, are based on a person's temperament and reaction to certain colours. However, Leila advocates visiting a trained medical professional in case of severe ailments, reiterating that the effects of Art Therapy can be experienced only over a period of time. However, Art Therapy isn't necessarily only for those 'suffering' from a specific ailment. "These classes also help an individual's creative self-development," she believes.
