The 6th India International Salsa Congress is here and it is time to spend the weekend getting to learn some new moves. It will be one big Salsa party and the dance form will be on everybody's mind. Choose from 45 different Salsa workshops for different levels being held at the venue or just let your hair down at one of the 15 parties. Watch 45 experts from over 30 countries battle it out at the fest. Part of the congress is the All India Salsa Championship that will see experts from the field entertain you.

Mumbai-based socially conscious band, Something Relevant, will be in town this Saturday. The band, formed in 2003, fuses genres like Indie, funk, jazz, pop, reggae and more. They will play hits from their albums like Feels Good 2B Live and more. The seven- member band consists of Aazin on vocals, Jehangir on drums and percussion, Stuart on bass guitar, Tanmay on guitar, Ryan on tenor and alto saxophone, Luis on piano and keyboards and Aalok on percussion, tabla and FX. They are known for their high energy performances and bringing in a social connect through their live shows. Also part of this live gig will be city-based band Mad Orange Fireworks and Anup & Kenneth.

Bangalore-based theatre group Misfit will stage its new experimental play Just Let Them today. The cast, that comprises professionals from different fields (there are engineers, architects and lawyers) and professional actors who have been groomed by Ratan Thakore Grant, are in the 16 to 32 age group. They are exploring the almost unexplored genre of seriocomedy. Directed by Krishnan Suresh, the play revolves around a bunch of people oblivious to their surroundings, disturbed in their future and unaware of the havoc.

Tarun Tejpal comes to town

Journalist and writer Tarun Tejpal will be launching his third book The Valley of Masks in town today. He will also read out excerpts from this book that
promises to be a powerful novel that looks in to the future and leaves the reader with a moral. An interaction session with the writer will follow. Tejpal has previously written two books, his debut Alchemy of Desire and The Story of My Assassins.
