"Each of us is responsible for looking like a winner and feeling like royalty," says Miss Earth 2010, Nicole Faria. The lissome babe shares her fitness regime with CS+ve:
Upbeat mantra
My fitness mantra is very simpleu00a0-- eat well and work out hard. I do not like to go on stringent diets, as I love to eat. Seventy to eighty per cent of your diet is what you look like. I am a strong believer in the power of exercise. I enjoy working out in the gym, with my iPod blaring upbeat music.
I strongly believe that you burn more calories dancing than just working out. In fact, my parents workout regularly, so fitness has been a part of my life since early days. Also, having been trained by some of the best trainers in the country, I have got into a fitness regimen that is enjoyable.
Loving care
My beauty and fitness routine is very flexible and works best when it is driven by how I feel. I hit the gym at least three times a week. And when I don't workout, I like to dance; belly dancing especially invigorates me. Music with good beats always gets me dancing.
Also, I drink water at regular intervals throughout the day and eat right. As for maintaining a healthy complexion, I always cleanse, tone and moisturise before going to bed. Pamper your skin and it will reward you with a glowing complexion.
Expert advice
I don't believe in starving oneself. So size zero is a no-no. You should always be happy with how you look and work towards a healthy life at the same time.
There are tons of fitness books in the market, but there is nothing better than having experts to guide you. Coaches are the best option, but books are the next best alternative.
Be your best
Do what you love the most, it's the best way to relieve stress. I love to hit the spa. Massage is God's way of reminding us that we are loved. What I also enjoy is a steaming hot bath.
A trick to looking fresh is to alternate the hot and cold showers. My mom insists on her special body and face packs and a fruit facial. And then you cannot go wrong with a detox diet once in a whileu00a0-- lots of fruits and vegetables, it gets you a translucent complexion and your body looks great.
Meditation is my way to de-stress. It helps me focus and keeps me positive. I've realised that life is exciting when we take the time to be our best.
