Au00a0first of its kind, Delhi Jazz Festival comes knocking at our door. Are you ready to embrace it?

Now that the Delhi has heard, chewed and digested Mohit Chauhan's live show, it's time for the Capital to 'jazz' up the entertainment quotient by a notch. And oh! We must confess what a furor it created till the end hours when fans high profiled and common kept the organizer Radio 1's office phone ringing till the end hours requesting for passes to the show.

But like the IPL is knocking at our doors before the pleasure of winning the World Cup has sunk in, the Delhi Jazz Festival too is at our door step. We have had jazz artists come and go but 'a first-of-its kind music festival' tag the three day long festival boasts of is possibly apt.

International artists from Italy, Germany, Canada, Scotland and Sweden plus Indian artists for the first time will converge in the capital to give it an identity which it has been lacking.u00a0

After all, South Africa has its Cape Town has its own festival, Europe has its endless lists and even our own humble Mumbai has Jazz Yatra Festival. It was indeed time Delhi rose to the occasion and hosted one of its own.u00a0 Some of the bands which will be performing are

Cesare Pico (Italy)
His love affair started with the piano at four and since then the man has aged like wine, composing and performing since his public debut in 1986. Picco's personal musical brilliance goes across different genres giving birth to music which is intense and captivating.

Be Why (France)
Created in 2006 the band has had 60 performances so far. Comprising of 10 musicians their music is dynamic and technically very sound, thanks to the fact that more of them were trained at the best music schools of their country.

D Company (India)
Yes, its called that but Dhruv Ghanekar to our knowledge has nothing to do with Dawood Ibrahim. However the man who started with the band Chakra-view went on to associated with movies like Bombay Boys, SNIP, White Noise and Drona. His USP-'always endeavored to fuse varied forms of musical styles with a lot of integrity and honesty'.

Amit Heri Group (India)
Like all dedicated musicians Amit Heri's story starts at 13 when he learns to play the guitar. After a scholarship from Berklee College of Music and endless hours ofu00a0 experimentation the result was a versatile guitarist who is among the few exceptional Indian musicians to have performed in international venues, including WOMAD, London Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Berlin Jazz Festival, Rome World Music Festival and the World Social Forum among others.

Jump4joy
They called themselves 'excellent musicians' a little too immodest you might say, but you receive standing ovations from Paris to Seoul, guess you can exercise a little artistic egotism. Ulf Sandstr m plays the piano and organ with a voice to match the magical fingers. Mighty Bo Gustafsson is good at playing jazz and ska music (a kind of pop music in Jamaica) with sax. Kenneth Bjornlund and Surjo Benigh style is about tight rhythms- strong yet flexible.
