Okay, so it's that time of the year, when the phrase dog-eared could mean more than a passing reference to those adorable canines who are you best friends in the neighbourhood.

Stray thoughts and deeds

The Welfare of Stray Dogs (WSD) is back with their mega book sale and like at its previous editions, you can choose from a treasure trove of titles that cover children, fiction, non-fiction, religion, self-help, hobbies as well as poetry, available at throwaway prices.u00a0

Even new releases at special prices are up for grabs. Books donated from Pritish Nandy’s collection are also on sale. Another must-see is the 25 stunning photographs of birds and animals in the wild by wildlife photographer and animal lover, Mandar Deshmukh, who has donated these framed works to WSD. The proceeds of the book sale and framed works will be used to fund WSD’s many programmes including sterilisation (42,500 dogs), immunization, first-aid and adoption. Drop by to do your bit for these soldiers of our streets.
