Planners, caterers, venues or priests — Web services that connect you to everyone you need to make a shaadi happen

Tech: Must-have wedding apps

WedMeGood

What’s it: A website-cum-app to find the right wedding planners and venues.
What we like: Offers a comprehensive list of Indian as well as international planners. You can browse photographs of real weddings along with a list of services hired for them. You can also use it to find the right wedding dress for bride and groom, hire services like make-up, catering, mehendi, photographers, etc.
What we don’t like: Absence of approximate costs.
Log on to: wedmegood.com (website), and Google Play Store (Android) and Apple Appstore (iOS)
Availability: Across India as well as in select foreign countries

PlanningWale

What's it: A single app to select and connect with all wedding vendors including the priest.
What we like: You will find everything you need for a wedding — from boutiques, banquets, photographers and decorators to a priest to solemnise it. The app is easy to use, allows you to bookmark the vendors you like as well as call them directly from the app. You can search for closest vendors based on your location. The vendors are also rated to help you find the most popular ones in your area.
What we don’t like: No prices disclosed for the services listed on the website.

ForMyShaadi

What’s it: An online portal to help your loved ones select the right wedding gift.
What we like: If you are buying a gift for a newly wed couple, wouldn’t you prefer something useful for them? The online gift registry allows soon-to-be-wedded couples to share their wishlist of wedding gifts with their loved ones. Smart and practical in these times, we think.
What we don’t like: There is no option to share a simple list of products that may not be available on the website, but a couple might still need them.
Log on to: Formyshaadi.com
Availability: Across India

InDear
What’s it: E-commerce portal to shop for bridalwear and a place to find wedding vendors.
What we like: Based out of Mumbai, Indear.in is an e-commerce portal offering designerwear for the ladies in the house. You can shop dresses based on type of wedding to  occasions like mehendi, sangeet or your role in a wedding. You can also shop for jewellery and gifts as well as find the right vendors for other wedding services.
What we don’t like: Though provided, online shopping for menswear is not available yet. Also, there’s no option for fast delivery or to book other services directly from the website.
Log on to: Indear.in
Availability: Mumbai and other metros

WeddingPlz

What’s it: A one-stop place to hire vendors for your wedding.
What we like: Apart from the regular wedding vendors, the website also offers a list of detectives you can hire to find the deep dark secrets about your partner-to-be. You can also use the portal to rent cars and find nearest shops for lingerie.  And, if you are not sure about the vendor to select, simply choose the services required, and the vendor will contact you.
What we don’t like: The map and direction services don’t work well.
Log on to: weddingplz.com
Availability: Mumbai, Delhi/NCR, Bangalore, Ludhiana and Chandigarh
