Use your gadgets across voltage zones with the latest world travel adapter

The War of Currents between electric companies in the late 19th century and early 20th century not only divided the world between AC (Alternative Current) and DC (Direct Current), but also into different voltage configurations. So, while most countries around the world, including nations in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia, adopted 220-240V, most of the Americas (US, Mexico, Canada and Brazil) as well as Japan settled for 100-127V as the standard voltage.

Thanks to this, if you buy an electronic device, in India or Europe for example, you won’t be able to use it in the US, Canada, Brazil or Japan.

But, Lapcare has a solution for those who constantly fly between different voltage zones. The company recently launched Globe Trotter, a travel adapter that can be used across all voltage zones with the push of a button.

Priced at Rs 1,399, the Globe Trotter is a compact palm-sized adapter, designed in the form of a cube. It weighs 125g, is portable and comes with a rubber coated surface.

The travel adapter is compatible with four of the most common power plug configurations and can be used in across voltage zones by sliding a button on the side. But most importantly, the adapter comes with dual USB ports with the maximum output of 5V/2.1A and 5V/1A, thereby allowing you to simultaneously charge your iPhone as well as your iPad. The device is available in green, red and yellow colours, and comes with a one year warranty.
