Enjoy some traditional rural delicacies at Golden Star thali's Dehati Rasoi Utsav

While traditional Gujarati and Rajasthani cuisine may be popular across the city, especially in the form of thalis, there are still several dishes that are not too common to Mumbaikars.

In a bid to popularise these traditional items that are rooted in the villages of Gujarat and Rajasthan, Golden Star restaurant has started a Dehati Rasoi Utsav. The word Dehati translates into "village" and the items on the menu will include preparations such as Ker Sangri, Panki, Dal Dhokli, Gatte ki Sabzi, Rajwadi Khichdi, Batata Kaju Kismis and Ringna no Olo. There will also be sweets such as Rajasthani Kheer, Moong Dal Sheera, Malpua Rabdi, Mewa Lapsi and Kesar Puran Poli among other items. These items will be served on alternate days based on that particular day's menu.

Prepared by chef Moolaji Maharaj, the meal will be served amidst a traditional presentation with a glass of Smoked Masala Chaas, sweets, farsan and various pickles.
