The "Connect" tab will also make it easier to connect with your friends and family by giving you the option to automatically sync your address book.
“If someone in your address book joins Twitter, we’ll let you know so you can give them a warm welcome,” said Ricardo Castro, product manager at Twitter, in a blog post.
“Starting today, you’ll see a detailed list of people and accounts we think you’ll enjoy following, all easily accessible in one place,” he added.
Available on both iOS and Android platforms, the new tab combines the ability to find friends from your smartphone’s contact list with Twitter’s own algorithmically generated “recommendations.”
“We’re thrilled to get this new feature into your hands and help you connect with even more people that are relevant to you. To check it out, update your app and you’ll see a little blue prompt introducing the Connect tab when it’s available for you,” the blog post read.
