The month of September marked the festivities related to the elephant-headed God as well the Chinese Moon Festival. It is held every year in the eighth month when the moon is believed to be at its brightest (this year, it fell on September 12).


A Chinese Mooncake

When the full moon rises, families get together to watch the full moon, eat moon cakes, sing moon poems and tell stories of the moon fairy who comes out to dance on the moon's shadowed surface.u00a0The Moon festival is also known as the Mid-autumn festival and is a harvest festival.

To celebrate this festival, Pan Asian will be offering a range of Moon cakes and home-style Dim Sums crafted by executive Chinese chef Liang Xiaq Qing.

They also have a Crystal Moon cake (with strawberry, red bean paste and custard milk fillet), Five nuts Moon Cake prepared in Beijing style and Date Moon cake prepared in Cantonese style as well as Sichuan Style Seafood Dumplings, Beijing style steamed, pan fried Pork Buns and boiled vegetable dumplings.
