If hours spent in front of the computer have left with you a bad back and little time to visit the doctor, the Birla Kerala Vaidyashala's Mobile Spine Clinic might be the answer you've been waiting for.

Statistics backed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) suggest that 25% Indians suffer from back pain, especially those in the manufacturing, service and retail industries.

"Hectic work schedules leave no time to visit the doctor," says Suguna adding that the facility is targeted at overstressed executives and celebrities.

Currently, the clinic offers treatment for Cervical Spondilitis, Lumbar Spondilitis, Sciatica, Disc Prolapse and Osteoporosis using Muscle Relaxing Therapy, Muscle Stimulating Therapy, anti-inflammatory therapy and spinal neuro therapy.

The mobile clinic comes equipped with a doctor, two therapists and a helper, and is fitted with an Ayurvedic bed and a bathroom.

After the ailment has been diagnosed, the doctor suggests the most suitable therapy and treats the patient in separate individual sessions.

If you are wary of getting a full oil massage since you have to get back to work or have a party to attend, they offer plain massages, which do not require the use of oil or water.

While general sessions range from 45 minutes to an hour, they also provide shorter sessions of 15 minutes each.
