A really good cup cake is always appropriate. As a simple snack with a light cup of tea or a mug of strong coffee, or to brighten your day post an ordinary meal, served with a good scoop of ice cream or just a humble icing.
But let’s admit — with the cupcake mania gripping the city, you also come across a few horrors on display — dry, unimaginative, pricey — defaming the fine name of the cupcake. So far, there is no Mumbai Cupcake Makers Guild in place to keep track of the number of places opening in the city, but press releases, media reviews, blogs and social media posts indicate that the “cup cake-ries” have spread beyond the known food hubs of Bandra and Lower Parel to Andheri, Ghatkopar and Colaba.
