Rural canvas calling
Laxman Aelay didn’t adopt creativity; he was born with it. With a weaver father, Aelay grew up alert to texture, colour motif and design. Now to spread his artistic magic, the Hyderabad-based artist is out with his solo exhibition, Fellow Travellers, which is an ode to the people who have been a part of his life.
“Performative art and Nakshi paintings are the subjects of my artworks. Transformation in the rural culture is the inspiration behind this show,” says Aelay, who took two years to complete the paintings.
