Board room games
Go rural with Adu Ali Putum
Every year, at the Kala Ghoda Festival, a new range from KEC Green Games is unveiled. This year, they introduced a silk board game (screen-printed on cloth), Adu Ali Putum, which is the South Indian version of Goats and Tiger. The game requires strategic planning. They also have a 3-D Cut Ramayana, a 36-piece lateral thinking puzzle for children and stock Pallanghuzi, the Tamil version of Oware (the sowing game), a favourite among agrarian communities around the globe. Only 100 pieces of this limited edition game has been produced each year since it’s made from high quality wood. Founder of KEC Green Games, Manisha Gadekar, says the demand for such games picks up during the monsoon. “These make for great family entertainers. Pallanghuzi is even handed down as family heirlooms,”u00a0she explains.
