Twenty year-old Vallari Gore, a third-year student of mechanical engineering, is a repository of information when we meet her at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Powai campus on a blistering Wednesday afternoon. She shows us a blue-and-yellow car that looks suspiciously like a bigger version of the cleaning carts used to move around in malls.


Vallari Gore, Urmil Shah, Devesh Bharti, Deshraj Jat, Mudit Dandwate, Sonu Manjhi, Prateek Sharma and Harshad Kunte are part of the core team that has worked on theu00a0first-of-its-kind eco-friendly and sustainable development Formula racing car in India at the Indian Institute of Technology, Powai. The car will participate in Formula Student UK 2012 (FSUK), one of the most prestigious collegiate events in engineering design, in July at the Silverstone F1 race circuit in Britain.
