Music festival NH7 Weekender is back in the city. This year&rsquo;s edition will feature some of the best Rock and Metal acts from India and across the globe. Some of the must-watch performances are by Electro giants Chase and Status DJ Set (UK), Alternative Rock, Metal and Reggae biggies Skindred (Wales), Progressive Metal band Textures (Netherlands) and Karsh Kale Collective plus NH7 All Stars. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/oct/Papon.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 368px;" /> Papon performing live Also gear up for performances by Electro-Rock band Scribe (Mumbai) known for their music as well as their on-stage antics, explosive Electro-Rock act Pentagram (Mumbai), Electro-Rock band Sky Rabbit (Mumbai) and Metal act Devoid (Mumbai). Raghu Dixit, who will be playing on The Dewarists stage said, &ldquo;We&rsquo;re honoured to be among the few bands that have played at every single edition of NH7 Weekender so far. We look forward to it every year and this year is quite special for us. We have a whole bunch of surprises in store for the audiences.&rdquo; Scribe will be playing at the Bacardi arena and Red Bull Tour Bus. Vocalist Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy states, &ldquo;NH7 Weekender is when our whackiest ideas find their biggest canvas. We&rsquo;ve had a Scribe Pav Bhaji stall, a court room set on stage, gigantic beach balls bouncing across the audience and countless on-stage mosh pits over the years. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/oct/Raghu-Dixit.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 557px;" /> Raghu Dixit will perform live This time around, we&rsquo;ll be playing not one but two different sets at the festival and one of them is going to be on top of a bus. We will play never-before-heard material and loads of new stuff from our forthcoming album, Hail Mogambo.&rdquo; One-man music band Dualist Inquiry will be playing at the Eristoff Wolves Den. Sahej Bakshi, from Dualist Inquiry, states, &ldquo;NH7 Weekender is the best music festival I&rsquo;ve ever been to in India. When I was a college student in Los Angeles from 2005-2010, music festivals became a de facto part of life, and I really missed that in the first few months that I was back in India, in early 2010. But then the NH7 Weekender came along, and I found just what I had been missing so much; a friendly, happy and totally carefree environment that is so disconnected from the outside world that it feels like a vacation within a vacation. NH7 Weekender 2011 was my first time playing a major slot on a main stage at a music festival. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/oct/event.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 333px;" /> A view of the crowds at last year&rsquo;s event The most memorable moment was looking up from my console during the gig, and seeing 5,000 people with their hands up in the air, bouncing in waves to my music. As opposed to one specially designated pet zone, there will be a few designated dog-friendly areas across the venue as well as near the stages, so festival goers can watch their favourite bands along with their dogs. About the stages The Dewaristsu00a0 The Dewarists brings the best of Folk and World music to the festival. This year, it will feature The Raghu Dixit Project (Bangalore), Papon and The East India Company (Mumbai/Assam), a live set by Midival Punditz (Delhi), Indian Ocean (Delhi), Shankar Tucker (America), Warren Mendonsa&rsquo;s Rock and Blues project Blackstratblues (Mumbai), Slow Club (England), Maati Baani (Mumbai), etc. Eristoff Wolves Den It will feature Electronica and Dance music through the day. Watch out for Simian Mobile Disco (London), Dualist Inquiry (Delhi), Nucleya (Delhi), BLOT! vs Kohra (Delhi), Vachan (Bangalore), Donn Bhat plus Passenger Revelator(Delhi) and Krunk All-Stars. The Other Stage The Other Stage features raw acoustic talent and singer-songwriters. This year, the stage will feature Suman Sridhar (Mumbai) with drumming talent Jiver (Kolkata), Nischay Parekh (Kolkata), Ankur Tewari (Mumbai), Your Chin (Mumbai) and Vir Das&rsquo; Alien Chutney (Mumbai). Red Bull Tour Bus On October 19 and 20, the Red Bull Tour Bus will be the newest stage at the NH7 Weekender.
