Samsung is now focussing on the launch of its flagship smartphone called the Galaxy S8. It is being rumoured that Samsung has postponed the launch of Galaxy S8 by few months. Previously it was reported that the smartphone maker would unveil the phone in Barcelona on February. However, another report claimed that Samsung in expected to hold a special event in April after which Galaxy S8 will be launched. Until then Samsung is planning to come up with comprehensive plans and gain confidence from customers.
Apart from a change in the launch date, another report claimed that Samsung Galaxy S8 might cost more than the current Galaxy S7 series. Financial firm, Goldman Sachs, stated that Samsung galaxy S8 will see a 15 to 20 percent price rise as compared to Galaxy S7. The firm stated that the price rise will be probably because of the higher cost incurred on raw materials.
There have been reports claiming that Samsung may incorporate an optical fingerprint scanner on Galaxy S8 and place the finger print sensor on the back. It is also being rumoured that the Korean giant may ditch the 3.5mm audio jack on smartphones and the new Galaxy series will come with a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm-headphone-to-USB Type-C adapter.
