The festive season is here, and soon, wedding season will hail in too. If you aren&rsquo;t exactly fond of visiting several shops to hunt for the perfect outfit for such occasions, drop by at the Design One Exhibition where over 85 different labels will be showcasing a mix of apparel, jewellery, home accessories, footwear and even kids wear. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2012/sep/SHIVAN.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 537px; " /> Colour Block swimwear by Shivan and Narresh The best part, proceeds from the exhibition will support different NGOs including Apne Aap Women&rsquo;s Collective, Bombay Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BSPCA) and Muktangan, an NGO that works for education of under-privileged children. Apart from these groups, the fourth edition of the exhibition has also provided complimentary stalls to seven NGOs &mdash;Bombay Paperie, Shine, Smile, Infant Jesus, OM Creations Trust and Victoria Memorial School for Blind. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2012/sep/elements-of-desire.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 315px; " /> Semi-precious handcrafted jewellery by Amrita Hansu00a0 Gauri Pohoomul, one of the organisers, elaborates, &ldquo;Design One is what we call Retail activism where one can support a cause while shopping from both budding and established labels. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2012/sep/shreya-goenka.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 535px; " /> Clothes for dogs from Heads Up for Tails byu00a0Shreya Goenka This year we have selected labels from all over the country, who haven&rsquo;t exhibited in the city before and hence shoppers will have the opportunity to make unique buys.&rdquo; The exhibitors this year include several top designers including Fashion Week Finale participants Pankaj and Nidhi Atsu by Atsu Sekhose, Amrich, Myoho, Shivan Narresh and Mayank and Shraddha Nigam. Masaba Gupta will exhibit a mix of festive and trousseau wear along with a few pr&ecirc;t pieces that include dhotis, jackets and everyday kurtas, &ldquo;It is a prelude to the festive line &lsquo;Postcards From Benaras&rsquo; that I will be launching early next year. It&rsquo;s festive wear but in my style, colours and sensibility. The USP of the line are lehengas, anarkalis and festive saris starting as low as Rs 15,000,&rdquo; says Masaba. Likewise, designer Surily Goel will be also showcase festive, trousseau and a few Western pieces. This edition will also have two cafes within the exhibition to kill those hunger pangs while you shop. Apart from big names one can shop from a selection of quirky, Indie labels where kurtas start at Rs 2,000 and saris for Rs 4,000. One can look out for fun stationery and paper bags beginning from as low asRs 15.
