1. From a Zoroastrian priest to an opera musician — How and when did the transition occur?
I was born into a priestly family and by the sixth grade, I was already a fully ordained priest; I have also been singing all my life in school musicals and choirs. I first discovered my love for opera at 17 when I shifted to Mumbai (from Pune) and happened to meet Patricia Rozario (world famous soprano and his teacher); she nurtured and encouraged me to sing in the operas at the NCPA and since then it’s been a roller coaster. I went on to do concerts with the Bombay Chamber Orchestra and solos at the Russian consulate, as well as private concerts. My parents and friends have been extremely instrumental and supportive in my endeavours, which has helped.
