Malaka spice is exhibiting paintings by artist Utpal Mazumder which showcase figuratives and semi-abstracts

It's hard to juggle too many roles at the same time but artist Utpal Mazumder, an engineer with training in cost accounting and a Manager with Microsoft Dynamics, does a great job of it. The multi-talented professional is exhibiting his paintings at Malaka Spice which feature figuratives and semi-abstracts. Ask him how difficult is it to balance career and hobbies and he mentions that it's a tough task.

"My profession is only about number games, how much business we are getting and profits but once I am home, switching from numbers to the creative side becomes a great challenge. Here I am able to experiment on canvas and pour whatever is there in my heart."

But he adds, "It becomes frustrating if I am unable to paint as much I want."u00a0 Mazumder also supports artists and has been organising exhibitions for the past two years. "During Durga Puja, I organise an exhibition where I exhibit my work and request people I know to exhibit their work. It becomes a great platform for talented people to showcase their creations," he states.

With a family involved in literature and art, Muzumder mentions that the process becomes easy. "My family has a great interest in art and because we share same interests, there is a lot of exchange of ideas." His favourite themes are the female form and horses.
