Chairman, P. Ashish Sharma, the man redefining UP’s Development Model

.

Go and Ask about P. Ashish Sharma from any localite in UP’s ancient city of Hathras and you will get to hear one word:- ‘Vikash Purush’ (The Man of Development). A low profile leader who works silently for the people has been credited with revamping the city and bringing back its lost glory.

  1. Ashish Sharma assumed his office after being elected the Chairman of the Municipal Council of Hathras in 2017 and since then, there’s no looking back. The man had only one mission ‘To make Hathras a city worth living and utilising its enormous potential in the tourism sector.’ Following his passion, he has been tirelessly working towards achieving it. He has brought several new modern day methods for making Hathras a city which can give a run for their money to any smart city.

Ashish aims to provide basic amenities like good drinking water, hospitals, parks to all the people living in the city. He has solved the decade old problem of jammed drainage by installing a new effective sewage treatment plant. Hathras is now feeling the change as the Infrastructure in the city is being revamped. Talking about infrastructure, he has made sure that all the old, damaged roads are rebuilt so that commuters don’t face any problems.

Ashish is a leader who understands the enormous potential of the tourism sector in Hathras as the city has a long historical significance with a rich heritage. Working on this, he has ordered the renovation of 200 year old ‘ Ghantaghar’ aiming to make it a popular sightseeing spot in the city.

  1. Ashish Sharma is also one of the very few leaders who was seen on the ground working for the common people during the Pandemic. From taking care of people’s financial needs to providing them with free ration, from making sure that people are vaccinated to taking care of the sanitisation process, he himself monitored everything. The people of Hathras seem to be very happy with their leader for his sincere work. He also is someone who introduced the concept of ‘Sanitisation at Night.’ Under this concept, the hygiene and sanitisation related tasks were done during the night making it easier for Safai Karamchari to do their work.

Ashish is known as the ‘Leader of the Poor’ because he has done a lot of significant work of public interest especially for the poor section of the society. He has ordered the development of a community centre which will be a boon for the poor people as it will help them to host functions and gatherings free of cost. Ashish is a man on a mission to take Hathras to a new league of development and he will not sit till his mission is achieved.
