I met this guy who was in one of my classes in college, and we started talking. I was on facebook and he chatted me and then gave me his number
Dear Diana,
I met this guy who was in one of my classes in college, and we started talking. I was on facebook and he chatted me and then gave me his number. and we started texting each other..This went on for three weeks and he wouldn't make a move.
I asked him if he liked some other girl and he said he wasn't looking for anything serious as he was leaving soon. And then he asked me if I liked any guy. I said yes hoping he would figure out I was talking about him. Do you think he did? Why would he talk to me and flirt if he's not looking for a girl? Then he stopped texting me but he'd reply to my texts and seemed interested. After a while, I too stopped texting as I thought he wasn't interested. There was no contact. But when we would see each other we would look and smile.
This is how it has been for a month. Why doesn't he talk to me, but sometimes he likes my pics or statuses on Facebook? I texted him yesterday wishing him a Happy Valentine's Day but he didnt respond.u00a0 He is leaving in three weeks. Should I still pursue him? I still want to see how things go between us and I don't want him to leave and not try at all. Any advice?
DB
Dear DB,
If this guy is leaving then doesnt make sense to start something with him. Especially when he has made it clear that he doesn't want to get into a relationship. Perhaps he knew you were developing feelings for him, which is why he stopped texting you. But still, if you feel like you have to tell him, then tell him that you like him, and would like to stay in touch even after he moves. Some guys are scared to make the first move and sometimes it's okay for a girl tou00a0 take that step. Just so years later you dont regret never telling him.
My boyfriend thinks I had sex with someone else
Dear Diana,
My boyfriend thinks that I had sex with some guy. He texted me and I didn't reply because I was mad with him. He refused my explanation and terminated the relationship. I want him back. How do I convince him that nothing happened?
Name withheld on request
Dear Friend,
If he doesn't trust you, you ahouldn'tu00a0 be in this relationship. However if you want him back, sayu00a0 something like, "I never have and never would consider cheating on you. If you want to talk to me, you know how to do it." Then walk away, and let him think about it. Being firm and to the point is the best bet.
I think she was being plain rude
Dear Diana,
My girlfriend and I have been dating formonths. She says she loves me, and writes reams of essays about it in cards on special occasions. This Valentine's Day was meant to be special. I cooked dinner for her, and we were seeing a film at home. Then she got a text from a male friend. If a girl had texted me, I would've checked if it was important and left it. This conversation between her and this boy seemedu00a0 unimportant, where they just exchanged smiley faces and X's. This bothers me. When I confronted her, she acted like a victim and said I was being paranoid. I think she is rude. What should I do?
Nandan
Dear Nandan,
It was sort of rude.u00a0 You don't start texting or e-mailing another person while on a romantic date!u00a0 If not switching her cell off, she should've at least quickly checkws her calls to make sure it was not something important that needed her immediate attention; then waited until she was back home to attend her social business. Having said that, if it was just this once. it might be an overreaction. It's not likeu00a0 she texted the night away. The texts weren't inappropriate - just a little chat, and it seems to me that she kept it short. I think you should let this one go. You had a nice night, I wouldn't let a little text ruin that. I think there are much more important things to get really, really bothered by. Pick your battles ufffd this one doesn't seem worthy.
