Dear Diana,
It's over a year since I broke off with my girl. I find myself in a dilemma as I still can't forget her. I want to get over her and move on. But it is proving to be difficult. I was quite happy before I met this girl. I just need to forget about her, but I never realised it would be so tough. I'm still obsessed with her. It's getting to the point where I'm thinking of hurting myself as I just can't stop thinking about her. I realise this might seem strange, but I just don't understand why I can't get over a girl who didn't like me in any way and lied during our courtship. I can't even talk to her to to get answers as I'll be accused of harassment and labelled a stalker. I tried taking up new hobbies, but when I go outside I have conversations with her in my head. What do I do to overcome my obsession?u00a0

Dear Jayesh,
Firstly, there is no need to harm yourself in anyway. It is not worth it, especially when you say the girl was not worthy of your love as she lied to you and never liked you. What you need is closure. So you will have to shut yourself from those constant thoughts about her. Immerse yourself in work, visit places, make new friends. Keep yourself so busy that any such thoughts can be kept at bay. It will no doubt be difficult and tough but you have to do it. You owe this to yourself. Remember over time you will forget so by remembering her you are making it difficult for you. Shut her out and move on.
