According to jeweller Ken Anania, the modern groom is happy to spend up to 5000 dollars on a signature ring.
Couples are marrying older - 31.4 for men and 29.2 for women - and have firm views on their wedding.
Daniel and Laura McMahon, married four years next week, still remember the time Daniel took to find his wedding band.
“I wanted something I could wear on a daily basis, something I loved and will be happy to keep forever. Because it does symbolise something so important to me I wanted to make sure it was a really special ring,” the Daily Telegraph quoted Daniel as saying.
“Out of all the wedding preparations the only thing Daniel really had a say in was his ring, he didn’t even get to pick his own tux,” he said.
