Dear Diana,

I'm a 19 year-old student and my girlfriend is driving me nuts. She's like the biggest fan of the British singer Adele on the planet. Her entire playlist is packed with songs I don't like a bit. She's possessed, sort of, when it comes to this singer. And now that Adele has swept the Grammy awards, she has gone berserk. She follows every little news about her on the internet. Her ringtone plays one song while her caller tune plays another. I can't even begin to tell you how much I hate her voice. A big chunk of her lyrics are about relationship breakdowns, heartbreaks and the negative side of life. I've tried talking to my girlfriend about this but she doesn't take me seriously and think that I'm being possessive. I'm tired of this torture.u00a0

Dear Lawry,
For the moment, just let her be. There are many people out there who are crazy about Adele's music. As you are certainly not a fan of her tracks, make this deal with your girl that she will not get obsessive about her favourite singer when you are around. Tell her what if you had to inflict her with music of your choice? I am sure she will not like it one bit. Instead, try and not talk about music but something else when you two are together. Also, be patient as she is sure to outgrow the fan phase. Tomorrow a new name will crop up on the horizon and she might get hooked to it.
