Dear Diana,
I’m a 25-year-old aspiring musician. I recently came across my English teacher’s profile on Facebook and added her as friend. She promptly accepted my request and we even exchanged some messages. Now it looks like I’m still in love with my life’s first crush though she’s 17 years older than me! I don’t have a girlfriend and she’s not married yet so I’m wondering whether we can have a life together? I’m not bothered what the society has to say. I’m sure my parents won’t mind either as they themselves don’t live together anymore. What should I do?

Dear Pyarelal,
You are 25, she is 42! Your school days crush may have suddenly translated into love. But take a reality check first. You are interacting with her but what do you know what happened all these years to her? Also remember she was your teacher, so her exchanging pleasantries on social media is not an indicator that she likes you. There may be so many of her students out there interacting with her on social media. Also, what kind of future do you perceive with her? By the time she is 50, you will be in your early 30s. You may not care a damn what others say, but real life is different. Be practical.u00a0
