Would attend phone call during sex, say Brits

One in three busy Brits believes it's acceptable to answer a mobile phone call during sex

Research by Vodafone found that as well as the third who said taking a call mid-romp was fine, 51 percent thought it was perfectly ok to take a call at a wedding.

“It seems we’re desperate not to miss out on gossip no matter what we’re up to, even when having a romantic dinner or in bed,” the Daily Star quoted Vodafone boss Srini Gopalan as saying.

In another study, nearly 4 percent people admit to having used their smartphones while having sex.

The survey asked 1,000 people who have used the service to trade-in an old device if they’d rather go without sex or smartphone for a weekend. 15 percent of people chose sex.

This isn’t the first time smartphone owners have admitted that they would give up sex over their beloved device.

In a related survey conducted by another company, smartphones tied with intimate relationships as two things business professionals said that they couldn’t live without.

A spokesperson for the website said that they were even more surprised at the number of people who said that they would choose their device over Facebook.

“When asked which device or platform they would not be able to live without, a majority (65 percent) chose their smartphone, while only a few (one per cent) report not being able to do without Facebook,” the press release for the survey states.

The survey was open to the website's customers for about one week. A spokesperson told they wanted to make the survey available for smartphone owners because the questions related to that device.

Meanwhile, nearly 85 percent of respondents reported to having used their smartphones while in the bathroom.u00a0
