Dear Diana,
I am a 15-year-old boy awaiting my SSC results. I am extremely confused about what to take up, which college to join and what career option I should pursue. Now that the results are round the corner, I am being bombarded with suggestions. My parents have their viewpoint, my sister hers. As I live in a joint family, each and every member of the household has been giving me their viewpoints. I feel they are only putting more pressure on me by doing all this. As it is, I am stressed about what the results will be and what my percentage will be.u00a0u00a0 But they insist on giving me a piece of their mind. How do I tell my folks to just let me be at least for the few days before my results come in. Due to their constant nagging, I have been hanging out with my friends for long hours.u00a0

Dear Cookie,
You are at that age in life when adults will tell you what to do and what not. As your results are round the corner, they feel they need to guide you which you feel is irritating. Talk to your friends, I am sure they, too, have people telling them similar stuff. You stay in a joint family, why don't you strike a conversation with one of your folks whom you are comfortable with? Voice your grievances and tell him/her to speak it out with the rest of your folks. You should immediately seek a career counsellor who can guide and help you about choosing a vocation. Ask your teachers, they can recommend a counsellor who can clear your mind. More importantly, learn to relax and stay calm. They are your elders, so you don't have to feel so offended by what they say. It is for your own good. As there are few days left for your results, make the most of it. Once the results are out, you will be extremely busy with college admissions. And believe in yourself, a clear mind will help you make the right decision. Ask yourself what you are interested in and then make a decision. And then all will be well. Best of luck for your results.

I love a guy who is engaged to someone else!

Dear Diana,
I am in love with this guy but he is engaged to a girl whom his parents have chosen. We are part of a group and he once told me how much he cares for me. My pals also tell me that he shows signs that he is into me. What do I do?
