Over a quarter of women fake orgasm every time they have sex, a new study has revealed. <img alt="Sex and relationships, faking orgasms" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2012/sep/fake-orgasm-women.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 351px; " /> AskMen.com&rsquo;s Great Male Survey 2012 polled 50,000 people from across the U.S., the UK and Australia, to arrive at the figures. Insecurities galore Scientists at the Temple University in Pennsylvania have discovered another cruicial reason why women pretend to climax in bed -- they are riddled with insecurities and have a fear of intimacy. While 60 percent of women claim to have faked ecstasy during intercourse or oral sex, researchers believe this has little to do with protecting their partner&#39;s sensitive feelings. Instead, according to a study, many women pretend to climax due to their own fear of intimacy; or because they feel insecure about how their bodies react during intercourse; or simply because they want it to end as soon as possible. It&#39;s all about quality! Twenty-five per cent of women admitted that they were also &ldquo;not at all satisfied, because of the quality of sex&rdquo;, with 27 percent admitting to &ldquo;no sex life&rdquo;. <h2 class="footer_style"> Men can fake it too!</h2> Not only women but men also fake orgasm and they&rsquo;re faking it far more often that you may think.u00a0Surprisingly, 34 per cent of men admitted they had also faked climax at least once. The survey polled 49,000 men and 1000 women, News.com.au reported. <img alt="Sex and relationships, fake orgasm" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2012/sep/fake-orgasm-man.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 333px; " /> This is a significant increase compared to a similar survey conducted a couple of years ago by Men&#39;s Health, in which only 17 per cent of men admitted faking it. When a man realises he isn&#39;&#39;t going to orgasm, faking it may seem a good way to avoid an awkward situation with their partners and hurt their feelings. Afterall, men have a reputation for being able to climax easily, according to the report. Ask.men also pointed out that a condition known as &ldquo;delayed ejaculation&rdquo; - which often prompts men to faking climax - has been linked to rising antidepressant use, workplace and economic stress, the proliferation of pornography and over-masturbation.
