We've been dating since late-2008. We've been relatively okay, except when we do get into arguments over nonsensical things from time to time. I believe she may be a little clingy. Anyway, my brother and his girlfriend got engaged last year and decided that they would like to get married on Oct 9 (and no, they didn't know that Oct 8 was the anniversary of the day we first met) My brother has appointed me his best man. He's getting married in Pune and he'll want me there throughout the wedding preparations.

And though it's still a long way off, my girlfriend's threatening me, saying that if I go, she may break up with me! I told her I will do everything I can to have a special day with her and that we could do something the weekend before, anything! But she said it MUST be on the day or we will have no anniversary at all.u00a0 Am I wrong for wanting to be my brother's best man or am I uncaring for not being able to spend the exact day of our two-year dating anniversary with her? What should I do?

Dear Terry,

I do feel that she's being unreasonable and selfish. I know several people who quietly celebrate their own anniversaries even if they're attending a sibling's (or a relative's) wedding. And it's not like you never offered an alternative.

Spending an entire day together (with no distractions) does seem like a sound idea and I really don't see what all the fuss is about. You aren't uncaring and if you are feeling stifled and shackled by this relationship, you really should walk away. Her being adamant on a day-and-date anniversary seems quite silly and unwarranted considering there will always be next year (and other anniversaries as well).

How old is too old to stay a virgin? I am 24 but still have not met the right man to become intimate with. I am not in a rush but I would like to know how old is too old? 25? 40?
