While the first example of motocross racing (the father of dirt biking) dates back to 1924, when off-road events were held in the United Kingdom, the first race, known as a scramble was held in Camberley, Surrey. However it was much later, in the 1930s, when the sport gained popularity as a team-based sport. Dirt biking grew as a motorsport with technological advancements and soon racing teams and big bucks ensured the sport earned worldwide acceptance.
Typically, dirt biking is conducted on flat dirt surface. There are no jumps in dirt track though, it has bends and curves. During the monsoon, this sport is a great way to give your biking skills an edgy twist, by attempting this high adrenaline version.
Skill, balance and maneuverability are key for success in this sport. Care must be taken to wear sound gear before attempting this sport. Also ensure that trained experts are around in case you are a beginner. In Mumbai too, there are several circuits that offer ways to pursue this thrill.
