Maldoli crocodile safari
Did you know that Maldoli, a hamlet located on the banks of Vashishti river near Chiplun, is home to crocodiles, some even 10 feet long? If you're keen to spot the reptiles or enjoy the serene backwaters, sign up for the Mumbai Rangers' Crocodile Safari, this weekend. "I visited the village last month and saw crocodiles freely residing in the river. According to locals, November to January is the best season to spot them because when it is low tide, they swim out of the water to bask in the sun since it gets too cold in the river," shares Amit Bhadouria, founder of the adventure trekking group, that is organising the Maldoli croc safari for the first time.
