Three questions with Paul Thomas, International DJ
Dj Paul Thomas
Q. How does it feel to be back in town again and what do you feel about the city’s crowd?
A. The club is exciting, it is in fact, one of my favourite venues in Pune. The vibe, the knowledge that people have here about the music, it is a different scene altogether. People here always want to have a good time.

Q. What is your take on Progressive House and Trance music? Also, you earlier mentioned about collaborating with DJ Tiesto?
A. I push myself more towards Trance. As a matter of fact, Progressive music is very tough to compose. Trance was my main stream and focus when I first got into Electronic music. I started pushing to be more melodic. What people play now, I would probably call it more of House-based music. It just differs from person to person. Somebody may call that House, and for others, it is Trance. As for the collaboration, I have just remixed one of Dj Tiesto’s classic records ‘In the Dark’. He is inspirational in the Trance fraternity.
Q. What kind of music do people in PUne like to groove to?
A. Pune is known for its music and vocals. I think Andrew Rayels music will work here. Anjunabeats is perfect for me, as their Trance is different. I am actually looking forward to it. I tried to mix it up with one of my records, but it didn’t work out the way I wanted to, so I decided to drop it. I am also looking forward to collaborate with one of the Bollywood artistes or DJs.
