Rujuta Diwekar is a celebrity nutritionist who was born to Rekha Diwekar and VP Diwekar on October 5, 1973. She was born in a Maharashtrian family.
Rujuta studied a program called 'Sports science and Nutrition' from Mumbai University in collaboration with IIT, Mumbai. She has also gone to University of Potsdam and Australian Institute of Sport.
Her entire family practised yoga as a way of life and this played a huge impact on her. She decided to study Yoga and Vedanta as well as Ayurved from Sivananda Yog Vedanta forest academy.
She applied what she had learnt to the Indian way of life in a practical way. Rujuta did not refer to any self-help book, but imbibed the principles of 'continuous learning' and 'pursuit of excellence in your field' by default. She says that she continues to learn.
Rujuta has won several awards in her field. She is the winner of the Nutrition Award from the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad. She has been voted among the '50 most powerful people in India' by People magazine.
She was conferred with ‘Mukta Sanman’ award 2013 from IBN-Lokmat, ‘Mata Sanman Youth achiever award’ 2013 by Maharashtra Times and was amongst the only three Indians in the CNN Asia-Hotlist: 'People to watch out for'.
Rujuta has spent more than 20 years in the industry and has worked with some of the bigwigs of the industry such as Kareena Kapoor, Anil Ambani, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Saif Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Karisma Kapoor, Richa Chadda, Shahid Kapoor.

She is the author of eight books which mainly deal with nutrition and health. Her first book came out in the year 2009 and the eighth one came out in 2018.
