Who said Mumbai's nightlife is restricted to boozy sessions and movies? As a new, open-till-1 am paintball arena launches this week, here’s where you can enjoy after-hours thrills

Get on a kart
Bored of beer pong challenges? Slip on a helmet, get into an electric kart and race your friend to the finish line on a multi-level track at a skykarting arena launched last year. Get an adrenaline rush as you dodge several barriers placed on the track, which are easy to manoeuvre for beginners and pros. To feel like you're in a real version, keep a tab on your lap timing via a feature on the kart (15 for adults and 10 for kids). The space, offering five- and eight-minute sessions, is open to all above four feet in height. While there, also check out indoor virtual reality games like Finger Coaster, Walk The Plank and Jurassic Escape.

Aim and strike
Had a tiff with your boss but don't know how to remove your frustration after a tough day? Go bowling. Imagine them as pins and knock them down with 20 balls of various sizes available at Amoeba Bowling Alley & Sports Bar. The space features 12 alleys and offers a game of 10 frames and 20 balls. If you get tired by the play, get your energy levels up with an array of continental, Indian, tandoor and Chinese eats, along with beer, cocktails and mocktails.

Walk into the war zone
Get your friends together for a night of heavy-duty gaming, where you put on your masks, get armed with air guns and strike the opponents at a 10,000-sq ft indoor paintball arena in Juhu. Open to all above 12 years, it launches on December 1. Operated by OWG, the space can accommodate 12 players at a time and offers 30 minutes of play time. "The staff is trained under APBF (Asia Paintball Federation) guidelines," says Ranjeet Patil, its founder. The team will open another arena at Marine Drive next year.

"We use German-made machines, so, the seat movements are smoother," explains Rima Pradhan, senior vice president -- marketing.
