Tune in to a series of events that will celebrate the idea of pleasure across talks, panel discussions and performances, and highlight research sourced from experts, writers and professionals
Vocalist Shubha Mudgal will be part of one of the talks
Pleasure is an important part of life that drives a lot of the choices people make, points out filmmaker and founder of sexuality project Agents of Ishq, Paromita Vohra. “Why are we not willing to talk about pleasure, especially when it comes to young people? We’re willing to talk about things like health, but as a country, we’re still not very open to conversations surrounding sex education. Everyone’s definition of the term pleasure is different and it needs to be looked at from all angles,” she says. From October 7 to 9, Agents of Ishq will hold a three-day online conference titled Love, Sex and Data, that will talk about all things pleasure and feature an array of guests including singer Shubha Mudgal, comedian Aditi Mittal, and sex educator Leeza Mangaldas.

The idea is to talk about aspects like data and research, and their impact on pleasure and to understand how they motivate desire and choice. The aim is also to take into account the experiences of those from marginalised communities and understand their unique histories and perspectives.
“We will have a set of keynote speeches and a mix of panel discussions that look at concepts of sex from all domains like crime statistics, sex education across generations, stigma, mental health in young people, digital culture and more,” she concludes.
