Although the pandemic has reached high peaks globally, with any luck, Japan hopes to hold the Olympic Games later this year. Amid this chaos, how prepared are our athletes? What does the future look like for them? Participants might find answers to such questions today at a session by Tata Literature Live’s Sports Yatras, a virtual series that brings together eminent sports personalities to discuss books based on them, and also by them, thus, giving everyone a glimpse of their journeys.

This session will focus on the book Dreams Of A Billion by Boria Majumdar and Nalin Mehta, featuring some of India’s Paralympians, including badminton players Manasi Joshi, Sukant Kadam and Pramod Bhagat, along with Deepthi Bopaiah, CEO of Go Sports Foundation, and Majumdar. “The series began as a lead into the Tokyo Olympics, and it continues to serve that purpose,” says associate festival director Amy Fernandes.

“This session is based on Boria Majumdar and Nalin Mehta’s book, which looks back at India’s Olympic path, its heroes and discusses our preparedness for the forthcoming Olympics. These are told in the authors’ dynamic and inimitable penchant for anecdotes, and with insights that make it a fascinating read,” she adds.

The session will also focus on the experience of the Paralympic sporting stars. “This is a part of India’s story of glory and it’s great that Boria brought on board our Paralympic heroes; they’re an inspiration to all of us,” shares Fernandes. We’re giving you no more spoilers. Sign up for the session today.
