Actor and stand-up comic Vir Das has donated some valued items from his closet and personal memorabilia to the Thrift Shop who will be hosting a garage sale this weekend. Mumbai`s first brick and mortar thrift store is an offshoot of the Bombay Closet Cleanse, a digital store that ships worldwide and stocks pre-loved fast fashion, luxury bags, shoes, curated local finds, vintage books, art and more at a bargain.
The physical store intends to offer an experiential space that takes inspiration from New York`s many thrift and pawn shops with a quaint, grungy vintage-inspired decor, and periodically conducts charity garage sales in collaboration with influencers and celebrities. In the past, Monica Dogra, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Malvika Sitlani and Abhishek Upmanyu have also donated their personal effects to raise funds for various causes.
