Four to the fore


Catch an exhibition called What Remains where four artists will explore a common theme of change. They are Yashwant Singh, Bhagyashri Dange, Roshni Bhatia and Arshi Sayed (in pic).

Electric sway


Put on your dancing shoes to usher in the weekend with South African electronic artiste Floyd Lavine’s (in pic) take on African beats. Lavine, known for his Afro-future sound, will be joined at the console by SickFlip, a solo project by Sarvesh Shrivastava.

Saturday
Best of both worlds

A Mumbai-based dance school that specialises in Bollywood choreography is teaching participants a semi-classical routine set to the tune of Manwa laage from Happy New Year at this class. It will be hosted on Zoom, meaning you can learn the steps in the comfort ofyour home. But they are also offering an offline version of the class at a Bandra studio, meaning you can have the best of both worlds.

A family-friendly comedy show

A bunch of comedians will steer clear of profanities and controversial subjects like politics and religion at a show called Apna Sanskaari Comedy Pic. They include Vaibhav Gupta (in pic), Himanshu Lohani, Manoj Bhandari and Saurabh Poddar, who will present jokes that an entire family can laugh at together without getting red-faced.

Art on tap

Hone your artistic spirit by taking up a workshop (or two). Take your pick from a guided canvas painting workshop or an immersive mandala session. All materials will be provided and no prior art experience is required.  The cost is inclusive of refreshments.

A musical evening with the greats

The SOI Chamber Orchestra and music director Marat Bisengaliev will perform works by works by Elgar, Vivaldi, Britten, and others. Bisengaliev is a noted interpreter of the works of Elgar and will be the featured soloist in works by the composer.
