Pune-based artist Priyanka Tampi’s animations on daily life musings have created a buzz on Instagram, and might jog fond memories of your favourite childhood illustrations

A still from the animation I’m getting too old for this; A hairy situation on Instagram’s reels has gathered over 1.4 million plays
These days, it’s easy for art to get lost in a sea of content, especially on a platform like Instagram. But if your work stands out and evokes the right emotion among users, it might get over a million plays, just like Pune-based artist Priyanka Tampi’s animations did. Her animations draw us back to an era filled with artwork by artists like Quentin Blake, who she names as her inspiration. Her intricate line work, vivid animation, and apt music set her visuals apart from most artists in the space. Tampi, who pursued her Bachelor’s degree in Economics, realised that she was more drawn towards art, using it often as a creative outlet. “For most of the duration of my degree, I would run off and do art competitions on the side. Since childhood, I’ve loved to draw, so after my bachelor’s I finally pursued a diploma in animation design at MIT Pune,” she reveals.
